Miss Universe candidates visited the historic town of Vigan, Ilocos Sur on January 15. Twenty beauties participated the Cultural Terno Show as part of Miss Universe ancillary event. The show highlighted the Abel Iloko, the traditional woven fabric of Ilocos Region. Candidates paraded the history-rich streets of Calle Crisologo to Plaza Burgos wearing a Terno creations by local fashion designers from Fashion Designers Council of the Philippines, Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines, and Ilocos Sur Designers Guild. The show was hosted by Nina Ricci Alagao, Priscilla Meirelles and Jeslyn Santos.
Twenty candidates who were present are Maxine Medina of the Philippines, Mariam Habach of Venezuela, Raissa Santana of Brazil, Kiran Jassal of Malaysia, Chalita Suansane of Thailand, Hawa Kamara of Sierra Leone, Zoey Ivory of the Netherlands, Virginia Argueta of Guatemala, Jaime-lee Faulkner of Great Britain, Zuzana Kollarova of the Slovak Republic, Stephanie Geldhof of Belgium, Marina Jacoby of Nicaragua, Erika Creque of the British Virgin Islands, Andrea Bezdekova of the Czech Republic, Monyque Brooks of the Cayman Islands, Cheryl Chou of Singapore, Violina Ancheva of Bulgaria, Dang Thi Le Hang of Vietnam, Magdalena Cohendet of Uruguay and Deshauna Barber of the USA.
Prior to the event, the beauty queens visited the Baluarte the personal estate of former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson and enjoyed their encounter with wild animals. They also participated in pottery making and Abel weaving.
